Callum's Summer

Some people have asked me about the switch from two to three kids versus the change from one to two. Last summer, when our third merely rode around in the baby carrier on my chest all day, I smiled when answering that transitioning to three didn't seem that much harder/different. Ha! I should have looked down the road. Three mobile kiddos, often in three directions, is crazy sometimes. Man to man versus zone defense. Yep, crazy difference. So transition from three to four won't be a big deal .... anybody catch that.... anybody....is this thing on....just kidding, nothing to report on that front. :) Moving right along...

Cal Cal or Baby (the two nicknames that appear to have stuck in our family) is definitely been on the move!

I ended our soon-to-be 15 month old's summer with a haircut. There's still a curl or two back there, but to please his dad, they are mostly gone. Sigh...

Callum, you are definitely your own kiddo. You do things we've never dealt with before. For example, you constantly try to run into the street or down the sidewalk! What?! The other two never tried that. Seriously, you're a workout.

You love to dance, play peekaboo and sword fight (wonder where you got that last one from). You have six teeth but have been exhibiting teething symptoms and tears at night for weeks now (plus plenty of drool) so we're hoping the rest come through soon.

The first time I told you to "wait just a minute," you put your hand on your hip and cocked your head to the side while furrowing your brow. Mr. Sassypants. You're learning the word "no" and learning you don't like it.

You still eat everything (but bananas) and everything you shouldn't (sand, chalk, etc.). You're still nursing. You rock our little world here, buddy. We love you!

The haircut has just grown the little man up! Oh my! Maybe the curls are gone but he's still as handsome as can be. Sweet little Baby Cal Cal...

He sounds like Ryan! Running down the street, eating what he shouldn't. Is he a messy marvin, too? He's cute, that's for sure!

He looks so grown up with that haircut! He's starting to look like not-so-much baby anymore! What a precious little guy!
